Nathan Adam Marlow, 35, of Muncie, born June 9, 1977 in Muncie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at IU Health University Hospital shortly after his beloved Fighting Irish football team won in overtime. Nathan was Indiana’s first and longest living 5 organ transplant recipient. Nathan’s strong faith and prayerful support sustained him through his many medical challenges. Nathan loved his family, friends, food, football, and his favorite feline, Elizabeth. Nathan is survived by his parents Judy and Rick Marlow; his sister, Megan White (husband Tim) and their two children, Luke and Victoria of Redkey; grandparents, Bill and Martha Jean Taylor, Peggy Langham, and Floyd and Betty Langham of Muncie; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nathan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Marlow; and a niece, Isabel Grace White. Special thanks to his extended family and caregivers at IU Med Center Transplant Unit, Heartland Ambulance Service, and RAI Dialysis Center. Nathans’ family is eternally grateful for all those who have prayerfully supported Nathan and his family. A Catholic Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00pm, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. John Bosco, 74, of Muncie, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 20, 2012 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. John was born November 14, 1937 in Chicago, Illinois to the late John Sr. and Mary Bosco. He graduated from St. George High School in Chicago and went on to attend Catholic Seminary in San Antonio, Texas. He proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from the United States Post Office after 42 years of service. He was the Muncie Postmaster and was also the MSC manager for Muncie and the eight surrounding counties. He attended Muncie Alliance Church and was a member of the Muncie Elks Lodge #245 and the National Association of Retired Postmasters. He also donated his time with VITA helping to do free tax preparation. He enjoyed golfing, singing, crosswords, and Sudoku. John was a wonderful husband, and loving and caring dad, who always put his family first. He loved spending time with his three granddaughters very much and was very proud of them. John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Bosco; two daughters, Debbie Miller (husband Drake) of Cartersville, GA and Lisa Marie White (husband Brian) of Yorktown; three granddaughters, Madelyn Claire Hatfield of Cartersville, GA, Maria Brianne White, and Anna Marie White of Yorktown; a brother, Louis Bosco (wife Rose Marie) of Springfield, IL; a sister, Michelina Tyrie (husband Rich) of Spokane, WA; and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Bosco. John enjoyed the staff at the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Unit at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and the family would like to thank them for their care and kindness. A funeral service to celebrate John’s life will be 1:00pm Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, Muncie, with Pastor Eldon Morehouse officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather to share and remember two hours prior to services from 11:00am to 1:00pm Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. William G. Sewell, 80, of Muncie, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Willow Bend Living Center. Bill was born March 10, 1932 in Muncie to the late Reverend Ed and Elva Sewell. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He worked at Ball Corporation as a Plumber and Steam Fitter for 25 years before his retirement. He enjoyed NASCAR, Bingo, and loved his dog. Bill is survived by his two children, Susan Cooper (husband Al) of Muncie, and Steve Sewell (wife Christy) of Selma; brother, Sidney Sewell (wife Katie) of Yorktown; sister, Shirley McQueen (husband Harry) of Muncie; five grandchildren, Josh West, Heather West, Nikki Araoz, Timothy Sewell, and Tori Sewell; four great-grandchildren, Kyla Araoz, Marleigh West, Liam West, and Lexie Berman; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Shearlene Sewell; three brothers, and a sister. A funeral service to celebrate Bill’s life will be 1:00pm Monday, October 29, 2012, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave, with Pastor Larry Waters officiating. Daniel E. “Dan” Rawlings, 73, of Muncie, passed away Saturday, November 3, 2012 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dan was born May 28, 1939 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Edward L. and Dolores M. Rawlings. He was a 1957 graduate of Muncie Central High School and served in the United States Army Reserve. Dan retired in 2000 from St. Gobain, formerly Ball Corporation, after 42 years as a Transportation Manager. He was also involved in Top Fuel Dragster racing at the Muncie Dragway. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Sandy Rawlings; their two children, Jason Rawlings (fiancé Michele Mitchell) and Jeffrey Rawlings (wife Monica); five grandchildren, Ashley and Miles Mitchell, and Seth, Zachary, and Emily Rawlings all of Muncie; his sister, Barbara Wylam (husband William) of Indianapolis; and four nephews, Dr. Mark Wylam of Rochester, MN, Bruce Wylam of Carmel, David Wylam of Ferdinand, and Steven Wylam of Fishers; and several great nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Daniel Rawlings. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 820 E. Charles St., Muncie, with Father Dennis Goth officiating. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00pm to 8:00pm Friday, November 9, 2012 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Judith “Judy” McFarland, 73, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born March 23, 1939, in Portland, Indiana, to Noel and Leora “Kathleen” (Williamson) Myers. She attended Ball State University where she obtained her Masters Degree in Elementary Education. Judy taught at Harrison Elementary, Yorktown Elementary, Preschool at First Presbyterian Church, and most recently at College Corner Elementary in Anderson. She was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Muncie, the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority and the Lady Lions. She enjoyed making baskets, being involved with programs to help out children, and traveling all around the world. Judy married the love of her life, Jack McFarland, in Portland, Indiana, on November 26, 1960 Judy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband, Jack McFarland of Muncie; children, Terry Caudill (Bill) of Lexington, KY, Lieutenant Colonel Jason McFarland (Elizabeth) of Okinawa, Japan; brothers, David Myers (Kaye) of Orlando, FL, Ron Myers (Linda) of Fayetteville, NC; sisters, Emma Lou Bocook of Munising, MI, and Carla Wilson (Larry) of Portland; brother-in-law, John McFarland (Bonnie) of Maria Stein, OH; grandchildren, Kait and Cari Caudill, Parker, Isabella, and SarahScott McFarland; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to specially thank caregiver, Amber Jacobs, for her spectacular care given to Judy. A funeral service for Judy will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1400 W, Riverside Avenue, Muncie. Ruth Joan Reese, 83, of Avon, formerly of Muncie, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Avon Health and Rehab Center. Ruth was born February 19, 1929 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Otto and Esther Rees. She was a 1947 graduate of Cowan High School. She married Robert E. Reese on February 10, 1950 and was happily married for 58 years before his death in 2008. Ruth worked several years at Mutual Bank in the savings and loan department. She had also worked at Thomas Boyd Printing and had been a Muncie realtor. She was a member of the Shawnee Heights Baptist Church. Ruth is survived by three sons, Daniel L. Reese (wife Melissa) of Avon, David M. Reese of Avon, and William H. Reese of Muncie; two daughters, Nancy J. Burcham (husband Ron) of Avon and Rebecca R. Diss (husband Tim) of Chicago; six grandchildren, Travis Reese of Muncie, Megan Burcham of Avon, Alec Burcham of Avon, Tiffany Teal of Avon, Jessica Diss of Ft. Wayne, and Nathaniel Diss of Ft. Wayne; two brothers, Harry Rees of Highland Springs, VA , and T. Dale Rees (wife Rosie) of Muncie; two sisters, Barbara Rees Cook of Springfield, VA, and Phyllis Rees Cullen of Little Rock, AR; Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert E. Reese; a grandson, Taylor Reese; two brothers, Roland Rees and Harold Lee Rees; and three sisters, Gladys Rees Green, Betty Rees Chambers, and Mary Virginia Rees Craig. Gerald Eugene Schmidt, 83, of Yorktown, IN. passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012, at his residence after an extended illness. Gerald was born April 5, 1929 in Anderson, IN, to the late Clarence and Ada (Lafferty) Schmidt. He married Marylou Morgan on May 7, 1954, in Yorktown. He retired from Westinghouse in 1989 after 27 years of service. Gerald served in the U.S. Naval Reserve and also trained in the Army’s 1st Air Borne Division serving as a Military Police officer in Germany. He was a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge #730, a 32° Mason of the Scottish Rite of Indianapolis, and the Sympathy Club of Westinghouse. Gerald is survived by his wife, Marylou of Yorktown; two daughters, Terri Corder (Rob) of New Castle, Kathy Keim (Earl) of Brookville; four grandchildren, Krista Corder (Woody Gibson) of New Castle, Ross Corder of Noblesville, Alison Keim of Brookville, Molly Grimmeissen (Kurt) of West Harrison; one great-granddaughter, Sawyer Gibson of New Castle; one sister, Joanne Richardson (Don) of Alexandria, and several nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lola Fabian; three brothers, Leroy, Jack, Clyde Schmidt; one great-grandson, Maxwell James Grimmeissen, born October 5, 2012 and passed away October 15, 2012. Harry Douglas Hobbs, 69, of Muncie, IN passed away Tuesday evening, November 13, 2012 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Harry was born October 29, 1943 in Rosehill, Virginia to the late Bernice and Henry Hobbs. He graduated from Summitville High School. Harry then served in the Army Reserves (1962-68), and earned a technical degree in electrical engineering. He worked at Westinghouse/ABB for more than 30 years. Harry leaves behind his son, Bryan Hobbs, and his daughter, Angela Gick, as well as five grandchildren; his former wife and mother of their children, Maureen Hobbs Ellingwood; his brother, Larry Hobbs (Julie); his sisters, Shirley Krieder (Jake) and Cathy Blalock (Kenny); and numerous nieces and nephews. Kenneth “Kenny” E. Criswell, 66, of Yorktown, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was born December 4, 1945, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Kenneth Odell and Phyllis June (Barnes) Criswell. Kenny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He spent many years working for and retired from Delco Remy in Anderson. He enjoyed playing the piano and collecting antiques. He was joyfully reunited with his family that preceded him in death, parents; daughter, Selena Criswell; son, Laramie Criswell; beloved brother, Danny Criswell; sister, Cindy Whitesell; and father-in-law, Rev. Harry “H.D.” Slattery. She owned and operated Gladys’s Beauty Shop in Muncie for almost 30 years. She married the love of her life, Robert Burks, on April 19, 1947. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert Burks of Summerdale, AL; daughter Brenda Adams (Samuel) of Foley, AL; son-in-law, E. She was a butcher at Delaware Foods for over 25 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Joseph E. Perry, Sr.; brothers, Louis G. Sarazen, Jr., Larry L. Sarazen; sister, Barbara J. Melchi; granddaughter, Deana Lynne. Judith is survived by her sons, Joseph E. Perry, Jr. of Muncie, Anthony Perry of Muncie; daughters, Lora Perry of Muncie, Rebecca Sarazen of Anderson, Donna Perry of Muncie, Nanette Perry of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Edward Jerry O’Korn, went to be with Our Lord, Monday, December 3 at the age of 86. Born April 19, 1926 in Farrell, Pennsylvania, Mr. O’Korn was the first child of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry O’Korn (wife, Mary). Mr. O’Korn was married to Rose (maiden name Prohart) on October 10, 1959. Married for 53 years, they lived most of their lives in Muncie, Indiana and raised three boys, Edward (wife, Celeste), David (wife, Tammy) and Daniel (wife, Jennifer). He is the grandfather of Brian, Lindsay, Michael, Joshua, Jackson, Scott, and Madeline O’Korn. He is the great-grandfather of Leilani. A member of the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII, Mr. O’Korn participated in the Aviation Cadet Program. He graduated from Youngstown University with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi social fraternity; the Slovenian Home (Sharon, Pennsylvania); and the Slovenian National Benefit Society. He was very proud of his Slovenian heritage (father, Jerry, was born in Slovenia) and has many fond memories of growing up in a Slovenian neighborhood in Sharon, Pennsylvania. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church. Upon moving to Muncie in 1962, Mr. O’Korn worked as the Manager of Safety and Industrial Hygiene at Westinghouse/ABB. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and the Industrial Hygiene Association. He is a past member of the Red Cross Board of Directors and was a CPR/First Aid instructor. He worked at Westinghouse/ABB for 50 years and retired in 1993. A devoted parishioner of St. Mary Catholic Church, he was a dedicated member of the choir for over 30 years. A collector of circus memorabilia, Mr. O’Korn enjoyed attending various circus events and was a member of Circus Fans of America; Circus Historical Society; Circus Model Builders. In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by his sister Helen “Tootsie” Scarmack (husband, Gene), nieces Gina Fromm (husband Bob), Geri Warcholl (husband David), Gayle Orrico (husband David), nephews Greg Scarmack (wife Stella) and Girard Scarmack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Mary O’Korn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 W. Jackson Street, Muncie. Father Andrew Dudzinski will officiate. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W.
